Jamaa Lore

The Alphas
Previously called "shamans", Alphas are Jamaa's leaders. They are mentors to their own kind. Each one seems to rule one land, or share one, and each has a vivid personality. Zios and Mira hired them from distantly lands to help Jamaa with their skills.

All are very mysterious and barely anything is known about the newest ones. Want to learn more? Here you will find all we know about every known Alpha, just click one!

Zios & Mira
Statue of Mira
Probably even more mysterious than the Alphas are Zios and Mira. Old records seem to say they were married, but that dosen't make sense. According to my stories, they are the first King and Queen of Jamaa. They were never married, but were chosen for their position. We know for sure Mira was a Stork, but as for Zios it is unclear. All we ever see is his mask, so I assumed he is probably a lion in my stories. Zios died in the last major Phantom Battle, but Mira apparently is still alive. Here is an old description written by AJHQ. Keep in mind it doesn'match up with the newest records, and therefore probably isn't accurate anymore.

" And so it was that the Sky Father was named Zios. He created many stars and planets and set them in motion. But after eons of creation, he became lonely. So he created the Sky Mother, a grey heron and named her Mira.

Zios's Mask
Mira was beautiful and kind and they were very happy together. She loved Zios deeply and often told him how talented he was, encouraging him to create. Together, Zios and Mira created their masterpiece: a lush land filled with oceans, mountains, meadows, and all kinds of plants and animals. They named this special world Jamaa, and for hundreds of years, the world and its animals were at peace.

But today, all is not well in Jamaa. A mysterious dark force has crept into the land, stealing away animals and ruining the beauty of Jamaa. Only you can help save the animals and restore the world to its glory. Please help, for you are Jamaa's only hope. "

Phantoms
Phantoms are the evil enemy of Jamaa. Little is known of
them, though you can find them in many places around Jamaa. They usually have 8 legs and one big eye. Their size is unknown, but in my stories they are almost four feet high. AJHQ once mentioned a battle with the phantoms a long time ago. Apparently, Greely the Wolf Alpha and Sir Gilbert the Tiger Alpha are both fighting the phantoms, though disagree on how to do it. News has recently reached Jamaa that the phantoms are on the move: could this mean we will soon be under attack? Here is the old explanation of Phantoms that was removed long ago, and is also no longer considered accurate:

"Mira, the Sky Mother, was heartbroken after she lost her companion spirit, Zios, the Sky Father. Her feelings of sadness and anger fell to the earth of Jamaa. Mira's tears mixed with the elements of Jamaa and formed the dark mysterious phantoms that haunt this land today. Because of the sadness and anger that they were created from, the phantoms' only goal is to bring chaos and destruction to Jamaa."

Here is another explanation that was removed, this time about the Night of the Phantoms:

"Now, the Phantoms' only goal is to bring chaos and destruction to Jamaa. That's why we celebrate The Day of the Phantoms: to trick and tease them, preventing them from doing their dark deeds!"

Jammers deserve to know Jamaa's history. Link to Jamaa Lore on your blog!

  2. Hmm.. I'm thinking that there's gonna be a raccoon alpha. Most likely. Anyway, I'm guessing the alpha would be a male one, and the next alpha after that will be a female, to keep the balance. Also, I saw in an earlier post about zebras possibly being the earlier horses, yet what I have noticed is that it could have just been a horse with black stripe markings, which are the unique markings to horses, yet it could have been a zebra, as the rest of the animals have no markings. I love your site, by the way BlueGecko, and I've added you - I'm XxMyDarkSidexX.
    Thanks for reading!

    1. I don't think there are white horses with black stripes. But there are definitely statues/sightings of zebras around Jamaa. What's debatable is whether they were hinting a new animal or not.

  4. It's really odd that AJ only features Greely, Sir Gilbert, Liza, Graham, Cosmo and Peck on the AJ blog, magazine and almanac. The other Alphas are only seen in the Appondale shop. Please reply your answers or suggestions. Thanks!!!

    1. The reason for this is, when Jamaa was created, they were planning on a mysterious world full of Alphas and kings and phantoms. The only 6 animals were the Wolf, Tiger, Panda, Monkey, Koala, and Rabbit. So they made an Alpha for each of those. But soon the forgot their original goals, and Alphas were no longer created for new animals.

One of Jammer Central's main goals is to encourage AJHQ to make Alphas a bigger part of the game.

    1. That would be cool! :D

But a lion: king of the jungle. It just seems to make sense.

    2. Yeah, but there's already a Lion Alpha (and Alphas are the leaders of their own kind), so it does not make sense that there are two Lion leaders.

But I also thought it over, so my retrospect is that Zios should be a real animal, like Mira and all the Alphas.

So maybe he's an Eagle, since Mira is a bird and eagles represent power. Plus AJ released some eagle hats/masks.

    3. Oh, I'm so so sorry. I was thinking about Sir Gilbert when I mentioned the "Lion Alpha". I am very sorry. -_-

    4. An Eagle would be cool. But I don't think it would make sense for them to be "married" unless they were both storks.

    5. Sorry for being a little late, but it's cool that you made our debate into a poll. It's better for the jammers to decide.

And, since I don't have a Google Account (only Yahoo) I'll just identify myself.

Ok, so my username is Shiverstone. Is it good???

    6. The poll was glitching (it said only 15 people voted when really like 70 did...) so I removed it. Lion was first, Dragon second.

    7. Yeah, you're right; it's better than an Eagle. I hope you make more polls!!!

      :)

  6. I have my own stories, and I explained pretty much EVERYTHING in Jamaa. I'm 100% sure that the Alphas HAVE lied to the Jammers before and aren't afraid to do it again. Also, I say that if you shape the lore a bit, all of the records line up.
