Hood With Feather & Fighting Phantoms

Today we have a Robin Hood-ish item, the Hood With Feather!

This is a really cool item, its the style you would see back in 2010. It just seems like the sort of thing that would be Nonmember in Jam Mart Clothing. (Those prices also shock me - I remember when the average item was 75 gems).

Sorry, I do not have time for a side topic. So, I will just leave you with this question - If we ever fight phantoms, how far should AJHQ go? Obviously, we don't want blood and gore, but I think a little fighting is only realistic. What are your feelings? I would love to read your comments!

Trough & Member "Betas"?

Today we have another Member item for the Ol' Barn den, the Trough. It is in Jam Mart Furniture, and great  item for horse lovers. It is resold from Summer 2012. In case you didn't know, it is not called water trough because when you click it it will turn into food (as far as I remember)!

Today's side topic should be interesting. I have brought up the topic of what should be described as a "Beta Rare" before. Now, over the next week or so, I'll explain a bit farther.

First of all, you have to know, "Beta Rare" isn't the right way to say it. Beta means something that hasn't been released yet. So a Beta Rare would be a rare that has never been released, like light purple Gazelle Horns. That also backfires on you when you say "I'm Beta!" haha. What we mean is and item that was sold when AJ when in Beta Testing, before the game was fully released. So we should say that the item is from beta, not that it is beta.

That being said, what is an item from Beta? There are two ways of looking at this, an item that was in Beta, but when the full game came out it was never sold again. I'll call that a true item from Beta. Or, you could say it about an item sold in Beta and also a bit after Beta ended. I don't like that explanation, I will tell you why later.

Beta was a short time between July 2010 and September 2010. Even I joined slightly after Beta (November 2010). Any item that was not sold in Beta cannot be considered an item from Beta, make sense? And yet people insist on calling stuff like Spikes and Scary Batwings and Fox Hat and Worns "Beta". Here are the release dates for those items:

All Spikes ~ July 2011
Scary Batwings ~ October 2010 and Sky High
Fox Hat ~ Beta, but released about five times over the next few years
Worn Blanket (normal colors) ~ October 2010

None of those items are from Beta. Now let me show you the true Member Clothing items from Beta, and the less rare ones that were also sold after, but never resold. If an item is resold, it is no longer "from Beta". That is why Top Hats aren't considered "from Beta". Later on I will do Nonmember and den stuff, but now I will focus on Member rares.

I know what you are thinking. From the list of items from Beta and after, but never resold, only one is Rare. That is why I do not like that definition. The bottom five on the bottom list were sold in Beta, and have stayed in the shops until today. Unfortunately, the Lion Hat is on clearance, and, knowing AJHQ, it will be resold, making it no longer straight from Beta.

Also, the first list is extremely short. Why? AJHQ resells things too much. At one point, there were so many super Rare items that a new player could easily get one in a month. But because people were greedy and jealous they asked AJHQ to resell them, and they did. Rares are not bad, only the owners of the Rares can be bad. So lets not make AJHQ think we are against Rares, okay?

Photo Booth & Koalas Exploring

Today we have an awesome update in Jamaa! The biggest part is by far the new Photo Booth! Located in both Club Geoz and the theater lobby, the Photo Booth allows you to take and save photos of you animal in cool poses!

Isn't that cool? And it costs only 50 gems to take a photo! It seems that Member-Only animals can also do different poses, but I cannot confirm that.

Also, we have another MMG for April 2013, this time it is a Spirit Helmet, to match you armor! Looks like they really want more Members.

And, just like we expected, the Koalas and Cosmo are gone exploring for the new land! No koalas can be bought until they come back. PS: Remind me, I really want to right some stories about their adventures! :)

Also, AJHQ has created a good repellent for those annoying flash trades. You cannot except a trade until about two seconds of looking at it.

And last, and probably least, we have the new item, Sunflowers. They are in Jam Mart Furniture, though I wouldn't consider them furniture.

Hay Bale & How to Type All Words in Jam-a-Grams

Today we have another farm-ish item in Jam Mart Furniture, the Hay Bale. This is also resold from Summer 2012.

For our side topic, I have some cool news about writing in Jam-a-Grams. My brother, Metroleafs, told me about this, but I don't know who told him. Basically, there is a combination of keys you can press in order to type words you normally can't.

First of all, you need to be a Member (obviously) in order to type in the letter. Then, open your mail, select who to send it to, and start typing. When you start typing a word that they don't have in their dictionary, it will turn red and/or a word will pop up above it.

No, geckos are not ugly, but that's beside the point. 

This is the complicated part. When this happens, hold down Shift and Alt, and click Backspace until the red text and word popups disappear. Then you can keep typing, but remember to repeat this step every time a word turns red.

Note that you cannot send any mean words. In fact, my message in the screenshot up there didn't go through simply because I used the word "ugly". There are plenty of words, though, that do go through, because they cannot be used in a mean way. If it does not go through, the receiver of the Jam-a-Gram will only see "Animal Jam Rocks!".

The Good News, The Odd News, and The Bad News

First, I guess I should post the new item. It is in Jam Mart Furniture, the returning Wood Fence. It was first sold in Summer 2012.

The good news is, I have finally achieved Scary Bat Wings! You may not know, but I was scammed my Wings along with a beard and a bunch of other stuff. So I am happy to at least have this now.

The odd new is, AJHQ has tried to update the home page, and pretty much failed. They were updating the bottom tabs, and, well... Just look:

Everything will tell you why Animal Jam is safe and fun, I guess.

They also created a language bar changer thingamajiggy:

It only changes a couple things, and doesn't effect the game at all. It is kind of pointless. And why french? Spanish is much more common...

Also, when you log in, the URL is long and wacky:

When you shorten it to just animaljam.com/game/play, it doesn't do anything.

And last but not least, the bad news. We had less than 200 views and 0 comments yesterday! Why? Blogs like Animal Jam Times will just become super popular while we are getting 0 comments.

So view VIEW VIEW! And Follow and Comment too! You guys can think of some thing we could do when we reach 50,000 hits.

Rare Sand Dollar Necklace & Blog Updates

Today is Rare Item Monday! The RIM is on the sixth page of Bahari Bargains, the Rare Sand Dollar Necklace.

Kind of boring (isn't every ocean item?).

Anyway, I was looking through my old mail, and I found a bunch of buddy requests. They were from Jammers who have been blacked out, since they were from so long ago. When I tried to accept the request, it said this:

Pitch Fork & Trade List Glitch

Today we have our famous prank item back, the Pitch Fork! It is in Jam Mart Furniture.

It was first released in early 2012 along with Horses and the Ol' Barn Den.

For today's side topic, we have a (useful) glitch! My brother, Metroleafs, showed me this. As you know, when a buddy is offline, you cannot see there trade list.

HOWEVER. If you simply unbuddy them, you can!

Then you can just click their trade list, look at their items, and send them a trade request (yes, even when they're offline). Isn't that a wacky glitch?
